Manager

Bakyah Karim, a Malaysian, is far far away from home. Born and grew up in the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur, Brunei is definitely a great and meaningful change to her life.

"Going from point A to point B is easy in Brunei. Anywhere is only 10 minutes away...! KL traffic jams is something I really do not miss...", says this ardent fan of Michael Schumacher..! Working long and hard is not foreign to this foreigner in Brunei Darussalam.

Bakyah is the 7 child of 9 siblings - with high passion for baking, pastries, cooking and travelling.

'Honesty' is her main rule and path of life...


Crew

As of June 2008, Kayu Nasi Kandar has a total of 25 full-time staff on its payroll.

The Head Chef, 5 chefs of differents specializations and all the other members of the kitchen staff are Muslims. They have all undergone weeks of cooking training sessions conducted by Kayu Nasi Kandar Malaysia - in bringing our valued customers the very essense of Kayu Nasi Kandar to Brunei Darussalam.

Our dining staff members - comprising of local Bruneians, Indonesians and Filipinos - are second to none. They have all been trained in:

** Customer Services - Food Serving
** Order Taking & Food Packing
** General Restaurant Cleaning Procedures
** Crockery & Cuttlery Preparation/Cleaning
** Cashier Duties & Phone Answering Techniques
** Personal Grooming & Hygiene & Safety/Evacuation Procedures
